!Who is Patron!
This word has many meanings, and the most common of them are:
- firearm ammunition
- technical device
- manager or boss
But for every Ukrainian today, this name is associated with our famous dog of the Jack Russell Terrier breed. He is the mascot of the State Service for Emergency Situations (SES).
Our country heard about him for the first time in mid-March, when we found out that he was working in a detachment of pyrotechnicians and was looking for explosives.
Since then, he has become a favorite not only of our children, but also of people from all over the world.
He was even awarded a state medal - "For dedicated service". Patron was also given an award at the Cannes Film Festival, the "Golden Paw" of the Irish Kennel Club and many other awards and prizes.
And recently he became the first dog in history with the title - "Dog of Good Will" from Unicef.
Despite his young age - 3 years, he is now the most titled and famous dog on Earth!
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken met him personally, he managed to bark at the Prime Minister of Canada - Justin Trudeau and play with the Prime Minister of Great Britain - Risha Sunak.
But despite his stardom, his main business remains demining the territory of Ukraine, which is currently the most polluted country on the planet with explosive remnants of war.
We teach our children the rules of safe behavior with such scary things. That's why, in order to give our important cause a bigger scope, we organized a public movement - Friends of Patron!
In which a group of volunteers is conducting training on Mine Hazard in the Bucha district - namely in the schools of our three hero cities: Irpin, Bucha and Hostomel.
The onw who passes our training with simple testing after its completion, receives the honorary title – Friend of Patron.
And it takes very little to become a true friend of Patron:
- age from 6 to 17 years
- complete our Mine Safety training
- pass a test
- participate in our contest
- share your knowledge with friends and acquaintances
That is why "Friends of the Patron" are now knocking on the doors of every school in Irpin, Bucha and Hostomel and sharing their knowledge - every day there are more and more of them.
And what kind of competition are we holding - we draw pictures on a very cool topic. Which one exactly - only true friends of Patron know, and we will tell you about it a little later.
